Legal

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern access to URLsilo and the use of its services.

A. Provider, Scope

  1. These Terms of Use govern access to and use of URLsilo by visitors, registered users and other recipients of the service.
  2. URLsilo is operated by the service provider named in the Legal Notice. The Legal Notice also contains the provider's contact information and the contact points for legal notices, users and authorities.
  3. URLsilo is available through the www.urlsilo.com website and related URLsilo domains or technical endpoints used to provide the service.
  4. Mandatory consumer protection rights remain unaffected.
  5. Conflicting terms of users or third parties do not apply unless URLsilo expressly agrees to them in writing.

B. Service, Contract and Technical Nature of Reports

  1. URLsilo enables users to submit publicly reachable URLs and domains, save them in a visual URL library and generate technical information such as website previews, screenshots, rendered targets, redirects, metadata, DNS, RDAP, IP, ASN, hosting, cookie, DOM, category, availability and related signals where available.
  2. The core URLsilo offer is currently provided without subscription and without requiring a credit card. If paid features are introduced, the applicable price, term, payment method and any additional contractual terms will be clearly communicated before a paid contract is concluded.
  3. A contract for use of the service is concluded when users use URLsilo or create an account and accept these Terms of Use.
  4. URLsilo may update, expand, restrict, suspend or discontinue individual features where this is required for technical, security, legal, economic or product reasons. Users are not entitled to a specific feature set, uninterrupted availability or unchanged presentation of generated data.
  5. URL reports, screenshots and technical analyses are automated, time-limited technical snapshots. They may be incomplete, outdated, affected by redirects, bot protection, geolocation, network conditions or rendering differences and do not constitute legal advice, security certification, privacy certification, compliance assessment or a guarantee that a website is safe, lawful, available or accurate.

C. Registration and Account Security

  1. Users who register must provide accurate account information and keep their login credentials, recovery keys and second-factor credentials confidential.
  2. Users are responsible for actions performed through their account where they caused or enabled the misuse. Users must inform URLsilo without undue delay if they become aware of unauthorized access or a suspected compromise of their account.
  3. URLsilo may require password resets, second-factor resets or other security steps where this is necessary to protect the account, other users, the service or third parties.
  4. URLsilo may temporarily block or restrict an account if there are indications of unauthorized access, abuse, security risk, unlawful use or a violation of these Terms of Use.

D. Submitted URLs and Limited Rights of Use

  1. Through the URL analysis workflow, users submit only URLs as technical targets for processing. This workflow does not provide an input for additional personal data. Users must ensure that they are legally permitted to submit the relevant URL and to request the related technical processing.
  2. Generated technical data may be retained after a user removes a URL from their own dashboard where retention is necessary to operate shared URL reports, avoid duplicate processing, maintain technical integrity, enforce safety rules, document abuse handling or comply with legal obligations. User-specific dashboard entries are removed from the user's personal list when deleted through the provided controls.
  3. URLsilo does not claim ownership of third-party websites, names, logos or content shown in screenshots or metadata. Rights in third-party materials remain with their respective rights holders.

E. Prohibited Use

  1. Users must comply with applicable law and third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, competition, personality, confidentiality, data protection and criminal law.
  2. Users may request technical analyses, previews and screenshots only for publicly accessible websites and URLs that they are legally permitted to inspect. Users must not use URLsilo to capture, store, analyze or make available personal data of third parties, confidential or non-public content, unlawful content or content whose capture, storage or use would infringe third-party rights.
  3. Users must not submit URLs for login areas, account dashboards, shopping carts, payment flows, authentication pages, customer, applicant, health, financial, private communication or comparable non-public areas. This applies even where such content might be technically reachable without URLsilo receiving user login cookies or credentials.
  4. Users must not submit credentials, tokens, secret URLs, private links, intranet addresses, local network addresses, internal administration panels, unpublished staging systems or other resources that are not intended for public access.
  5. Users must not use URLsilo to bypass access controls, rate limits, technical protection measures, robots or security controls, to perform vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, denial-of-service activity, scraping at abusive scale, harassment, phishing, malware distribution or any other abusive or unlawful activity.
  6. Users must not submit or distribute malware, exploit code, hacking tools, password generators, stolen data, unlawful content, obviously copyright-infringing content or content that is offensive, obscene, racist, threatening, harassing, defamatory or otherwise unlawful.
  7. To the extent permitted by law, users must indemnify URLsilo and its representatives against third-party claims and necessary defense costs arising from content or requests for which the user is responsible and that violate these Terms of Use or applicable law.

F. Screenshots, Technical Analyses and Access Restrictions

  1. Technical analyses, previews and screenshots are performed only when actively requested by a user or where processing is necessary for service operation, moderation, abuse prevention or legal compliance.
  2. URLsilo does not use a user's login cookies, access credentials or comparable authentication information for captures. Therefore, URLsilo is not intended to capture authenticated account areas, personalized shopping carts or other private user sessions.
  3. URLsilo may refuse, abort, limit, delete or block screenshots, analyses, reports or related generated data if there are indications of unlawful use, third-party rights violations, abuse, security risk, technical malfunction or a violation of these Terms of Use.

G. Moderation and Account Restrictions

  1. URLsilo may review, refuse, restrict, hide, block or delete submitted URLs, generated reports, screenshots, accounts or related technical data where this is necessary to prevent abuse, protect the service, comply with legal obligations, respond to sufficiently substantiated notices or enforce these Terms of Use.
  2. Possible measures may include restricting sharing, suspending generated reports, limiting account functionality, suspending or terminating accounts and preserving evidence where legally required or reasonably necessary.
  3. Further information about notices, contact points, moderation procedures and user remedies under Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 is available in the Digital Services Act information.

H. Third-party Content and Links

  1. URLsilo displays user-submitted URLs and technical information about third-party websites. URLsilo does not adopt third-party websites, third-party content, trademarks, names, logos, screenshots or metadata as its own.
  2. URLsilo has no influence on the current or future content, design, legality, security or availability of linked third-party websites. The respective operators of third-party websites are solely responsible for their content.
  3. URLsilo does not generally monitor third-party content without cause. If URLsilo obtains knowledge of unlawful content or a sufficiently substantiated notice, URLsilo may take appropriate action in accordance with these Terms of Use and applicable law.

I. Warranty and Availability

  1. The statutory warranty rules apply where mandatory. For the free use of URLsilo, liability and warranty are limited to the extent permitted by law.
  2. URLsilo does not warrant that generated data is complete, correct, suitable for a specific purpose, continuously available or reproducible at a later time. Websites can change at any time and third-party systems may behave differently depending on location, time, device, network, bot protection or other factors.

J. Liability

  1. URLsilo is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, in the event of fraudulent concealment of a defect and where URLsilo has expressly assumed a guarantee.
  2. In the event of a slightly negligent breach of material contractual obligations, URLsilo is liable only for foreseeable, contract-typical damage. Material contractual obligations are obligations whose fulfillment is necessary for the proper performance of the contract and on whose compliance users may regularly rely.
  3. Any further liability for slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
  4. The above limitations also apply to the personal liability of URLsilo's employees, representatives and vicarious agents.

K. Privacy

  1. Information about the processing of personal data, cookies, logs, registration data, URL reports, screenshots, advertising and data subject rights is provided in the Privacy Policy.
  2. Where users submit URLs or request screenshots and technical analyses, they are responsible for ensuring that the request does not unlawfully capture or process personal data or confidential information of third parties.

L. Changes to These Terms

  1. URLsilo may amend these Terms of Use with effect for the future where this is necessary due to changes in law, case law, technical requirements, security requirements, service features or business processes.
  2. Registered users will be informed of material changes in an appropriate manner. Where required by law, changes will become effective only after the user's consent or after expiry of a reasonable objection period. If a user objects to a material change, URLsilo may terminate or restrict the contractual relationship where continued provision under the previous terms is not reasonable.

M. Consumer Dispute Resolution, Applicable Law, Contract Language

  1. URLsilo is neither obligated nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
  2. German law applies, excluding international private law and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, unless mandatory consumer protection rules provide otherwise.
  3. The contract language is German. The German version of these Terms of Use is legally binding for the contractual relationship. The English version may be provided for information.
  4. The contract text is not separately stored for each individual user. These Terms of Use are available on the URLsilo website and can be saved or printed by users.
  5. For merchants, legal entities under public law or special funds under public law, the place of jurisdiction and place of performance is the registered office of the provider named in the Legal Notice, to the extent permitted by law.
